ACORN-Blago-Obama-SEIU

Quite an unholy alliance. ACORN is the subject of an 88 page Congressional committee report, charged with fraud and political corruption:
The executive summary of the report says ACORN provided contributions of financial and personnel resources to indicted former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown and candidate Obama, among others, in what the report calls a scheme to use taxpayer money to support a partisan political agenda, which would be a clear violation of numerous tax and election laws. [snip]

The report accuses ACORN, after receiving more than $53 million in federal funds since 1994, of blurring the legal distinctions among 361 tax-exempt and non-exempt entities to divert that money into partisan political activities.
Evidence found in the report relies in part on documents provided by former ACORN employees.

"Operationally, ACORN is a shell game played in 120 cities, 43 states and the District of Columbia through a complex structure designed to conceal illegal activities, to use taxpayer and tax-exempt dollars for partisan political purposes, and to distract investigators," the report read.
The Washington Examiner:
In other documents cited by the report, ACORN affiliates comment on the role they played in Blagojevich’s election as governor in 2006. In the 2006 year-end report of ACORN affiliate Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 880, the election activities on behalf of Blagojevich were called “flawless,”
Flawless, hmm. Well, Blago's up for trial next June on RICO charges. RICO, RICO, RICO. (Analysis in the report Appendix 2). The American Spectator with more. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) on Glenn Beck. Video here.

More. Will ACORN Get Cash Earmarked in Health Care Bill for ‘National Network of Community-Based Organizations’?—Bill’s Author Says ‘I Don’t Know’. CNS News. Who needs the US of A--let's call it the US of ACORN. Votes, Census, now Healthcare. (Hmm--will anyone ever really die? They'll just live on in the voter vault.) And this:
But Hatch is concerned that money in the bill will also go to fund organizations that perform abortions--like Planned Parenthood.

The grant program in question envisions that grantees, including those representing national networks of community based organizatiosn, will work “to implement a variety of programs, policies, and infrastructure improvements to promote healthier lifestyles.”

These grantees will be charged with carrying out a “community transformation plan,” and the targets of their activities will include local schools, infrastructure and restaurants.
Is there anything ACORN can't do? ACORN organizers fanning out everywhere, targeting, uh teaching your children--eat your veggies or die. Awk:
The bill specifically directs organizations receiving the grant money that they must “with respect to residents in the community, measure -- (i) decreases in weight;
Weight nazis. And Barack and Michelle are the Czar and Czarina in charge of everything.

More: Good grief: ACORN founder Wade Rathke, whose brother embezzled millions from the organization, is having a book signing today in New Orleans. The name of the book is 'Citizen Wealth: Winning the Campaign to Save Working Families'.
