Blogroll Addition: Bill Baar's West Side

Bill Baar's West Side is the newest addition. Check out my previous blog on the Illinois GOP governor's debate, which Bill covered in style.

Bill hails from St. Charles.

We are starting to circle around Chicago with these blog connections: strength in numbers.

Also for Bill's comments and others, on the debate and Illinois politics, check out the Capital Fax blog.

My observation of last night's Republican primary debate was as much about style as substnace, with all of the candidates exhibiting traditional Republican reserve (i.e. almost no ad hominem attacks). JBT sounded as brittle as she looks under the harsh t.v. lights. I was disappointed every time she looked down to read her (staff-written?) notes. Oberweis (the ice cream guy or did you already know that?) sounds like a conservative but I wonder if he will stand up any better than his product under the hot son of Springfield. The governorship of Illinois is not an internship program - but I said that before when he was running for Congress and the Senate. We might very well want to like Gidwitz, the money guy who can thumb his nose (a la Peter Fitz) at the power brokers. He reminds me of Pataki in NY after 911 - just not the one you want to hear speaking during a crisis. Senator Brady is the charm offensive, the Baby Reagan with lots of potential. He might get a check from me as a down payment on the future of Illinois.
