Support Garrett/Cronin bill SB3086 the Equity in Eminent Domain Act Go to Springfield Hearing Feb. 15th

Two Illinois State Senators, Susan Garrett(D-Lake Forest)and Dan Cronin(R-Elmhurst) have introduced legislation,SB 3086, the Equity in Eminent Domain Act, to tighten the definition of blight and strengthen protection for ordinary citizens.

This bill was released from the Rules Committee and will be heard in the Senate on Wednesday, Feb. 15th.The municipal organizations will be mounting a major campaign to defeat this bill in committee, and to make matters worse, hundreds of mayors will be in Springfield that day because it is their lobby day.

If you can, go to Springfield, talk to your legislators, go to the hearing, let your voice be heard!

Here is my earlier post: Is Your Local Government a Blight on the Community?

This may be the only chance in Illinois to stop the abuse of eminent domain.
