Bill Brady Aids Child Accident Victim at Scene

Another reason to vote for Brady for governor---he's a hero. Via IlliniPundit, the Daily Herald:
SPRINGFIELD — Republican governor hopeful Bill Brady says he simply did what anyone else would have done in stopping to help victims of a car crash he witnessed over the weekend.

“We tried to help as best we could,” said the Bloomington state senator who’s running for governor.

He and his driver were heading to a campaign event in Quincy Sunday when they saw a car collide with an interstate guardrail. In the collision, an 11-year-old boy was thrown from the car.

“When we first got there, the two girls in the car were in shock and desperate to find their brother,” said Brady. He found the boy next to the guardrail. “He was obviously in a desperate situation. The young child had a serious head wound and my initial reaction was I was afraid he’d bleed to death.”

Brady took off his shirt and gave it to his 23-year-old driver, BJ Benton, who tried to control the bleeding while Brady went back to the car for blankets.

An ambulance arrived soon after.
