New Opti-Scan Voting

Some experience in opti-scan voting downstate from Diane in Respublica, where they have been in use since the November 2000 election. As some of you may know, Cook County is introducing them for the first time in this coming Tuesday's election, having made continuous upgrades in voting machines since the infamous butterfly ballot dispute of 2000 down in Florida. Butterfly ballots had commonly been used here for years, without major incident. (How is it claims of Republican vote fraud around the country always occur in Democrat-run election districts? Obviously they can't credibly claim that here, as Democrats dominate in the city) New federal election reform law might have something to do with Cook County's improvements. But there's always the bureaucrat element downtown, full of possibilities. I just hope my name is still on the voter list.
