PTA to the Rescue

The PTA has come out in favor of recess. AP here. And here's the PTA's bells and whistles site.

I know it sounds trivial but I do think this is an important part of the day for kids. And I think this is a better use of the PTA's efforts than (at least around here) continual politicking for tax increases for schools. Recess might actually help kids concentrate back in the classroom.

So perhaps the PTA might suggest a deal with their buddies the teachers' union---we support getting you and the kids a recess break if you agree NOT to show any more IN CLASS MOVIES. EVER.
