Something Stinks in Minsk

Democracy in the former Soviet satellites is a work in progress. After the Rose Revolution in Georgia and the Orange Revolution in the Ukraine there remain states that are still dominated by Russia, which itself is backsliding to the old USSR. And after would-be democrats in Uzbekistan were crushed last year, opposition groups in Belarus face a tougher path to freedom.
