Chicago, You Lose

Chicago aldermen strike again, driving Walmart and jobs into the near suburbs. Tribune story here. Earlier editorial here. Sun Times:
The 35-14, veto-proof vote is an overwhelming victory for organized labor and the latest in a string of legislative defeats for a corruption-weakened Daley.
A hollow victory for Big Labor, as the Walmart bill was overturned in Maryland. And they will still be out the jobs.

UPDATE: And how could I forget this, the aldermen voted themselves a pay raise. We should put these guys in charge of everything---they can just pass an ordinance.
