Freedom and Dignity

Civil rights era activists gather in Chicago, still viewing the world through that prism, clouded with age.

One of the few younger ones to attend viewed the conference as a history lesson, to inspire the same old tactics today. Another wanted to pursue "the dream", but couldn't define it.

The answer is staring them in the face---school choice.

Teachers' unions led by liberals have indoctrinated inner city students into believing they can never succeed on their own, about the "evils of the existing social order". Even math and science are transformed into "social justice" math and science, the latest idiocy introduced into Chicago public schools by former domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and his buddies.

As we know, boys are especially at risk, given the feminization of our public schools. Those with parents who can afford it can opt out with private schools, but most in the inner city can not. And Chicago schools are among the worst in the country. Merit pay can be part of the answer, but it is not enough.

This is the new focus for civil rights, school choice, affording freedom and dignity to our troubled youth.
