An Established Menace

One thing we can agree on with madman Ahmadinejad of Iran, he suggests UN headquarters should be moved from the US.

But where? Perhaps a country most emblematic of its "decayed, despot-infested collective", la Belle France. They do like to listen to themselves talk there, and make deals under the table.

The point is moot, though, as the UN is on its last legs anyway, unless it confronts Iran and means it.

As Tim Hames puts it in The Times, RCP, Iran having nukes is different, it is an "established menace", and it would be a Shia bomb, triggering a nuclear arms race in the middle east, as Sunni countries would probably not like to depend on Israel for their nuclear umbrella.

Meanwhile, Kofi Annan in Iran mustered up the courage to express displeasure about Iran's exhibit of cartoons mocking the Holocaust. In response, Iran announced a conference to examine exaggerations of the Holocaust.

Guess they don't want the Nazis to get all the credit for killing Jews.

UPDATE: Mary Laney, Sun Times, "Once again, we learn appeasement doesn't work":
Today is Labor Day, a day to honor yourselves for all the hard work you've done to make America the great nation it is today. But, have no doubt about this: There are Islamofascists who want to destroy you and all you've worked for.

They're not looking to take your jobs. They're looking to take your lives.

The president of Iran has openly said he wants to destroy America and wipe Israel off the face of the earth. He has defied the United Nations in continuing to build nuclear strength.
