When Fran and Casey Gaik got a barrage of harassing e-mails, found they had been put under surveillance and discovered their Oak Brook house had been entered while they were away, they couldn't exactly call the cops.Public officials treating residents like criminals.....what a surprise.A cop was doing it, the Gaiks say.
What was their crime? They spoke up at village meetings and in public.
Fran Gaik, 55, a psychologist, wanted a good police chief hired for the town and questioned police morale. She helped set up a citizens' group for better government. Casey Gaik, 59, a home builder, called on the village president to resign.
