Stupidity or Demagoguery

A definitive study on the public's opinion of Medicare Part D. Initially they are in favor of negotiations on the part of the government to bring down the price. But once they are educated on the real implications, that the number of drugs would be strictly limited, it wouldn't save any money (the competitive market component of the current plan has brought prices down dramatically), and future life-saving drugs would be imperiled, they are overwhelmingly opposed. Douglas Schoen, RCP.

As a Heritage Foundation expert said, the Democrats are trying to make water run uphill.

So what's the Democrats' excuse?

And their effort for this monstrously ignorant bill was (suitably) led by my own congressperson Jan Schakowsky, the brilliant Rahm Emmanuel of Chicago and presumably will be led in the Senate by Illinois' illustrious Durbin the Dull, in the running for the King Canute award.

Stupidity or demagoguery, take your pick. It's the Democrats.
