Deadeye Durbin & his Sidekick Barack

In other news, Obama thinks the common sense requirement of photo IDs at the voting booth is "partisan bias", joining his fellow Democrat Sen. Dick Durbin (who recently voted to kill such an amendment in the Senate) in perpetuating the system here that disenfranchises honest voters in Illinois. And playing the tiresome old race card, despite the evidence that virtually all vote fraud occurs in heavily Democrat, urban districts. Could some of it be intentional? I am shocked, shocked.

Perhaps we should drop the photo off Illinois' drivers' licenses. And mandate that airlines can not ask for photo IDs in Illinois. Or video stores. Or liquor stores and bars. Hmm? In case you forget what these guys look like, check out this earlier post for Obama. And for your convenience I have included a photo of our other Senator, Deadeye Dick Durbin, on the job with two other partners in crime.

UPDATE: John Fund, WSJ, RCP commentary on voter-ID:

Voter ID laws are hardly the second coming of Jim Crow. In 2005, 18 out of 21 members of a federal commission headed by former President Jimmy Carter and former Secretary of State James Baker came out in support of voter ID laws. Andrew Young, Mr. Carter's U.N. ambassador, has said that in an era when people have to show ID to travel or cash a check "requiring ID can help poor people." A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll last year found that voters favor a photo ID requirement by 80%-7%. The idea had overwhelming support among all races.

One reason for such large public support is that the potential for fraud is real. Many people don't trust electronic voting machines. And in recent years Democratic candidates have leveled credible accusations of voter fraud in mayoral races in Detroit, East Chicago, Ind., and St. Louis.
