Early Totals in the 10th

Unofficial fundraising results show Rep. Mark Kirk (R-10th) outraising his rivals, not surprisingly. Wilmette Life:
U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk, R-10th, of Highland Park, has raised more than $1.2 million during the first six months of the year for his 2008 re-election campaign, or four times the amount raised so far by either Democratic candidate in the race.

Democrat Dan Seal of Wilmette, who Kirk defeated in the 2006 general election, raised more than $288,000 for the six-month period from Jan. 1-June 30, including $250,073 raised during the second quarter of the year. Jay Footlik, Seals' Democratic primary opponent, already has raised an $286,000 -- all during the second quarter.

Kirk's dollars came largely from within the district, as have Seals' so far. Last time, as I recall, he got a lot of Hollywood money drummed up by Rahm's brother. Interesting on Footlik outraising Seals, though he doesn't mention the local percentage. Guess he's calling in the chips from his former colleagues in the Clinton administration.
