GOP Candidates in the 9th, 8th

Republican Michael B. Younan, an Air Force veteran, health care administrator and entrepreneur, and married father of 3, is running against flaming liberal Jan Schakowsky in Illinois' 9th Congressional District. This will be a fun one to watch, as the Greens are after her.

Poor Jan, she's so lonely, presumably normal people have moved away, leaving aging pony-tailed former SDS members to harass her. The Swamp on the incredible shrinking 9th district:
Forgive Reps. Rahm Emanuel or Jan Schakowsky if they seem a little lonely these days: The Chicago-area Democrats are watching their constituents move away at a quick clip.

Data from Polidata and the Almanac of American Politics show Schakowsky’s district lost more than 50,000 residents – or nearly 8 percent of its population – from 2000 to 2005. That’s the third-fastest-shrinking district in the country. Emanuel’s is the eighth-fastest shrinking – down 33,000 people, or about 5 percent.

And in the 8th, Steve Greenberg, a Long Grove small businessman, board member of porkbusting Americans for Prosperity, and married father of 3. Greenberg played hockey in the NHL minors and will handily take on incumbent Melissa Bean.
