Pawlenty Possible GOP Veep

Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty tops the list of possible Veep candidates for McCain--it's surfacing in stories now. The Politico:
Beyond passing the conservative litmus test and appealing to swing voters, he is the lone big-state, two-term Republican governor in the heartland. And Minnesota’s media markets reach into two other traditionally contested states along the upper Mississippi River, Wisconsin and Iowa.
Minnesota's blogging Captain Ed with more. A former judge, Mary Pawlenty's initiatives here. They call him T-Paw in Minnesota--blogger boosters with his top ten. And this from The Weekly Standard which I remember reading last year, about Pawlenty's suburban and exurban appeal. I don't agree with his drug reimportation idea ("show me the dead Canadians"), and some of his green proposals, but he's a dynamic and tested young governor, and paired with McCain would make this quite a race.

It can't hurt either to have the Republican convention this September in Gov. Pawlenty's home territory, right on the Mississippi River in the Twin Cities.
