Remembering Abe Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was born 199 years ago today. Kentucky is celebrating this.[That was the plan, join us next year] Note pix of Honest Abe's boyhood home at Knob Creek Farm.

Illinois will officially be celebrating President Lincoln's 200th birthday next year.

So here are a few favorite Lincoln quotes:
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
And this:
He has a right to criticize, who has a heart to help.
Finally this:
I desire so to conduct the affairs of this administration that if at the end... I have lost every other friend on earth, I shall at least have one friend left, and that friend shall be down inside of me.
We were blessed to have him as our president.
