From somewhere in California:
She's a heroic teen who saved her classmates from certain injury and even death. And her reward for her actions? A weekend detention.
A 15-year-old Seaside, California girl was on a school bus last Wednesday, when the driver suddenly made too sharp a turn, fell out of her seat and hit her head. With the adult out of commission, Amanda Rouse jumped up, slipped into the driver's seat and slammed on the emergency brake, bringing the big yellow vehicle to a stop after it had already hit two parked cars. Apparently she hadn't officially signed out of school, just went home because she wasn't feeling well.
OK, school policy was violated, but this is ridiculous! Another brain-dead school board that lacks common sense, and human decency for that matter.
