Earmarxists on Notice

Via Erick at RedState, McCain to the Rescue--earmarxists on notice.

Also Citizens Against Government Waste, the taxpayer's watchdog, has a national blog, The Swine Line (oped in the Trib today) helping lead the charge on an earmark moratorium. Americans for Prosperity has The Oink Report, and are joined now by an Illinois blog, the Pork Report, all good sources for porkbusting which is gaining momentum as an election year issue.

In Illinois, AFP is also supporting new accountability legislation:
The Illinois chapter of Americans for Prosperity (AFP-IL) applauds Reps. Mike Tryon (R-Crystal Lake) and Jack Franks (D-Woodstock) for their introduction of House Bill 4765. This legislation would require the Department of Central Management Services to create the Illinois Accountability Portal providing taxpayers with online access to information detailing state expenditures, tax credits, state employee salaries, state contracts and other important information.

Curiously, unions have come out against the bill and lobbied against it at committee hearings. AFP-IL cannot believe that labor would be against such sound public policy. The integrity of government spending is at question, why on earth is labor opposed to this – unless they have something to hide?
