Rematch for the 14th

Who knows whether Jim Oberweis' loss in this Saturday's special election is a harbinger for the GOP in the fall--after all he's lost so many before, including his first run for an open seat in the 10th district, when he lost in the crowded GOP primary. The GOP still holds that seat. The Tribune, who endorsed his opponent, recaps the race, with this interesting note:
Gov. Rod Blagojevich scheduled the special election on Saturday as an experiment to see whether it would increase voter participation. But turnout was low, with barely more than one in five of registered voters making it to the polls.
So we shall see. Rematch in a few months.
