The Schoenberg Stomp

Well isn’t it nice for his constituents to see the REAL Jeff Schoenberg in action? Now that his Democrat cronies have all the power in Springfield, State Senator Jeffie (9th,D) doesn’t have any need to coddle his State Senate district with crumbs of representation - this week he stomped on a compromise that Northfield Village President John Birkenbine has been negotiating for several years...

UPDATE: Statement:

GLENVIEW, IL - Today, 9th District Illinois Senate Candidate Brendan Appel released the following statement regarding the Willow Road widening project:

"Last night, residents in the 9th District were stunned by Jeff Schoenberg's decision to move forward with a plan to widen Willow Road to four lanes - even though the final analysis of the project had not yet been completed.

In order to come to an informed decision, municipalities along Willow Road hired the Lakota Group to perform an in-depth study. This study was commissioned in order to find a balance between increased traffic flow and safety for the school children who attend the three schools along the busy road. However, before the report was to be delivered on May 1st, Jeff Schoenberg dictated that the expansion would go ahead, whether the study was completed or not.

I am deeply concerned about this issue and would have waited to have all the facts at hand before making a decision. This is a democracy and residents' voices should be heard about decisions that will affect their quality of life and the safety of their children. They should not have these decisions brazenly dictated to them. "

Brendan Appel, a successful local attorney, husband and father, resides with his wife, Doris, and their two daughters in Glenview.
