Recall Roll Call of Shame

The Illinois Senate rejects recall for Illinois and thumbs its nose at the public. The choice voters have now is clear--throw the Dem bums out. Here's the recall roll call of shame. Tribune:
The showdown injected new vitriol into an already toxic environment at the Capitol, something Blagojevich and lawmakers don't need with only four weeks to pass a budget before the adjournment deadline.

The notion of a recall gained momentum because of what critics call Blagojevich's erratic performance in office, but the measure picked up steam amid a continuing stream of pay-to-play allegations against the administration and the federal corruption trial of Blagojevich fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko.
Blagojevich ally and Sen. President Emil Jones tells us that he's some kind of profile in courage for standing by his man--making the "tough decisions", like voting himself a pay raise while the state goes bankrupt. It's true, there are other options to clean up Illinois--legislators can impeach the governor themselves. Or they can wait for him to be convicted by the Feds and go to jail.

There will be another measure on the ballot in November--a referendum on whether a convention should be called to convene an Illinois Constitutional Convention. More on the Illinois Citizens Coalition here.
