About our speaker . . . Richard Williamson was appointed ambassador to the Sudan in January of 2008. He is also a practicing partner in the law office of Winston and Strawn, Chicago. Earlier in the Bush Administration, he served as Ambassador to the United Nations for Special Political Affairs and as Ambassador to the U.N. Commission on Human Rights. Along with his broad foreign policy experience, Rich has written seven books and edited three. He is a graduate of New Trier High School, Princeton University, and the University of Virginia Law School.
