CHICAGO - In light of recent news reports that San Francisco ultra-liberal House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will be campaigning for Democratic House candidates, the Illinois Republican Party is asking whether State Senator Debbie Halvorson will bring Pelosi to her district.
"Senator Halvorson has described Nancy Pelosi as the classiest woman in the whole wide world," said Illinois Republican Party Spokesman Lance Trover. "The question now is whether Senator Halvorson will bring "the classiest woman in the whole wide world" to the 11th Congressional District to tell voters where they stand on issues like offshore drilling."
In the August 1st edition of Roll Call, Pelosi and her handlers again slammed the door shut on the possibility of calling bills for a vote that would open up drilling on the Outer Continental Shelf.
"Frankly, we welcome a visit by Speaker Pelosi to the 11th District so she and Senator Halvorson could explain to the voters, who are paying more than four dollars for a gallon of gas, why they oppose offshore drilling," said Trover.
