Obama has tried to assure donors and voters that he's been schooled by Chicago politics."I'm skinny but I'm tough," he says.
I wouldn't brag about Chicago and Illinois machine politics if I were you, Barack. Then he gives us this howler:
"Sen. McCain bragged about how as chairman of the Commerce Committee in the Senate, he had oversight of every part of the economy. Well, all I can say to Sen. McCain is, 'Nice job. Nice job,'" Obama said at a rally at a baseball stadium in Las Vegas. "Where is he getting these lines? The lobbyists running his campaign?"Um, Barack, what about David Axelrod, you know the guy who nannies you (besides Michelle) and writes your teleprompter text? The Campaign Spot has pointed out:
As for “lobbyists running his campaign,” that charge would carry more weight if Ploufe’s boss, Obama chief strategist David Axelrod, wasn’t the head of a firm that does lobbying.
Axelrod avoids any embarrassing contradiction of Obama’s ‘boo hiss lobbyists’ rhetoric by simply not registering as a lobbyist; we are to believe that in all of his and his staff’s contact with lawmakers, while they go about fulfilling contracts to organize groups "capable of contacting policymakers to advocate for our position," they never actually urge or suggest the lawmakers to support any particular position. (And the Obama campaign charges that its opponents think the public is stupid.)
And Obama the reformer? Puhleeze.
Drudge has these in your face Obama tactics as the lead story:
In Elko, Obama tried to anticipate his critics and called on the crowd of about 1,500 to sharpen their elbows, too.
"I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face," he said.
I've run into this at BlogHer--it certainly seems to me some anonymous Obama operative is stalking me in the comments with personal attacks, after I pointed out Obama's connection with Fannie Mae .
Oh yeah, Barack is such a nice post-partisan guy. As are his allies.
UPDATE: Via Gateway Pundit, video of Fannie Mae talking to the Dem family, including Michelle:
