"Lake County is a Republican county, and we intend to keep it that way in November," declares McCain supporter Rene Hernandez, Jr. of Round Lake,IL. "We have a great group of supporters up here who are excited about the McCain-Palin ticket and we are going to come out in full force on Tuesday night to rally everyone just 6 weeks before the election."
In the 2008 Primary, McCain won 51% in Lake County. In both 2000 and 2004, George Bush won the county with approximately 50% of the vote.
"With the election right around the corner, now is the time to kick it into high gear," says Tim Rash, Co-Chair of Illinois Young Professionals for McCain. "Illinois may be Barack Obama's home state, but we have an eager group of supporters who want to ensure that Senator Obama does not win any of our neighboring states and that John McCain is our next President."
