U.S. deaths are at a wartime low in Iraq, and our men and women in uniform have just killed top al Qaeda propagandist Abu Jihad al-Masri with a missile strike on the Afghan-Pakistan border. But the peace we have achieved is fragile.
Things are heating up in Afghanistan, where Obama's useless UN-style approach was in effect until recently. Now that General David Petraeus is taking over that theatre as well, to implement the same successful strategies (Obama opposed) in Iraq, shouldn't we elect the leader who backed the surge, backed Petraeus and our troops, and was right on the war, even when it wasn't the popular thing to do?
Shouldn't we credit Sen. John McCain for his courage and vision on national security? Don't we owe it to our troops to win the war? Isn't the way to a secure region there and a secure America a strong defense?
Peace through strength is the answer--John McCain is the right choice.
