10 Questions for Mike Madigan

Illinois GOP: 10 Questions for Blagojevich Co-Chair Mike Madigan (another friend of Blago)

1. So far you haven’t said unequivocally whether you support impeachment - do you support it now?

2. So far you have been silent on the resignation of Rod Blagojevich - do you believe Rod Blagojevich should step down?

3. You were one of the first supporters of a special election? Do you think there should be a temporary appointment of a Senator?

4. With the proposed special election timeline, there would be a February primary and a March general - if you do support the temporary appointment of a Senator, wouldn’t this person almost immediately need to begin running for office thereby keeping them away from any duties in Washington.?

5. If so, should this appointment be a place-holder instead?

6. Have you had any discussions with Harry Reid or Dick Durbin about the idea of a special election?

7. Have you spoken with Attorney General Lisa Madigan about a special election?

8. With your role as Democratic Party Chairman, should you recuse yourself from playing a role in the special elections legislation?

9. You co-chaired Governor Blagojevich’s re-election campaign after it was clear there was a myriad of investigations involving his administration - do you regret that?

10. Your spokesperson has said that you performed a “perfunctory” endorsement of Blagojevich because of your role as Party Chairman. Did you perform the same “perfunctory” role in the 2002 Governors race and 1998 Governors race?
