Some Second Guess

Imagine the position we would be in post-Mumbai if we had not taken out Saddam Hussein, WMD or no. The risks of terrorism worldwide would be immensely magnified today, as they would have been given free rein. Look at the continued vulnerability and disarray in India, despite their having endured attacks before, though not of this magnitude.

Since Sept. 11th, to its great credit, the Bush administration, our military, law enforcement, and our intel community have engaged the enemy abroad and kept us safe at home. Some still second guess, but those who do are as likely to leave us as unprepared as India, and consider the world well lost.

Apparently for the left multiculturalism only works at home, splendid in isolation.

Freedom is hard work and we can't ignore the fact that trade and travel depend on someone to fight pirates and terrorists. Shall we call on signatories to a NY Times ad to take on the task?

UPDATE: Someone who stepped up: Aussie pilot Steve Smith saved 30 in Mumbai restaurant. Luxury cruise ship attacked by pirates. More: Yes, the Mumbai terrorists used BlackBerrys to communicate. How to combat that? WSJ.
