Profiles in Cowardice

Quinn can't escape his role in state quagmire. Illinois GOP Chairman Andy McKenna in a Sun Times op-ed.

Profiles in Cowardice
, Chicago Tribune editorial:
What flagrant exclusion of the people of Illinois from the selection of their junior senator. If there's a guiding principle in the devolving behavior of these Democratic leaders, it's this: The prospects for our party's eternal dominance of the Senate are all that matter. We'll change our positions as often as necessary to achieve that end. You don't like what we say today? Just wait 'til tomorrow. [snip]

We continue to hope Illinois legislators reverse their tacit complicity in this tainted choice of a senator and do what House Speaker Michael Madigan said last month that he was ready to do: schedule the election.

The victimized people of Illinois deserve better than they're getting from self-serving lawmakers in Washington and in Springfield. Each day's news adds to the tawdry story of reprehensible acts in service to the cause of Democratic domination. End this tainted effort to fill a Senate seat by letting voters replace Obama? Why take a risk?
Yeah, who needs democracy anyway. We've got Dem-MOCK-cracy. (We have national unity under The One.)
Would it not be easier
In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?
