Professorial Presser

He comes across as professorial, but don't you get the impression that what he says is just about all he knows on the subject?

And the press lets him get away with his glib talk. He said there was no pork in the bill because there were no earmarks. If it oinks like a pig...

P.S. And if he says Paaahkeestahn how come he doesn't say Afghaahneestahn, hmm?

P.P.S. Major slip bringing up Japan's Lost Decade. Some people will google it even if the press doesn't. The WSJ talked about this back in December. Barack Obama-san.

Finally--I should give kudos to Jake Tapper who asked how the president would measure the success or failure of the bill, and what would be Plan B. Major Garrett set up the throw Joe Biden under the bus shtick--a casual move by Mr. President who thinks so little of his veep he demeans him publicly.

OK, one more thing--don't you kind of feel like if he'd been asking the questions instead of answering them he would have been booed and hissed like in student days of yore--people would have said, what's your point, sit down!
