Three Chicago Democrats did their best Thursday to assure that you can't choose your junior U.S. senator in a special election. In a 3-2 vote, state Sens. Rickey Hendon, Tony Munoz and Ira Silverstein nixed legislation that would have let you have that election. Hendon, Munoz and Silverstein kicked you to the curb during a meeting of - you'll like this part - the Illinois Senate Executive Committee's Subcommittee on Ethics.
