Democrat Utopia

Bloggers pick up on the outcome of years of Democrats' dim ideas--Detroit--the future the Obama administration promises. The Tribune highlighted the $7,500 house back in January (I wonder what it's worth now).Primary voters chose a businessman to face off against the acting mayor in May. Good luck.

Rahmbo's replacement for the 5th congressional being picked today in Chicago. Rahm also in the news for his $8.5 million in earmarks:
Even though President Barack Obama has repeatedly pledged to ban congressional earmarks, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has 16 such projects, worth about $8.5 million, in the bill the Senate is considering this week.

The earmarks include funds for Adler Planetarium and west suburban Franklin Park. Obama has been relentless in criticizing the use of earmarks; in his address to Congress last week, he boasted how the economic stimulus package was "free of earmarks."

By the end of this week, however, he's likely to sign a separate $410 billion spending plan that keeps most domestic programs funded through Sept. 30, the end of fiscal year 2009. It's a measure that contains about 9,000 earmarks.
Their utopia, our expense. We get to tighten our belts, the government porks up and dispenses patronage for campaign contributions.

P.S. Oh yeah, best quote--crime is down in Detroit, "there just isn't anyone left to kill".

P.P.S. Whites told to "go home" at Detroit City Council meeting. Gateway Pundit.
