WMD Bust In NYC

The financial wherewithal went through NY, not the nuclear material so I suppose that is some relief. WSJ:
Manhattan District Attorney Robert M. Morgenthau announced a 118-count indictment Tuesday against a Chinese company and its manager for engaging in illegal financial transactions through U.S. banks to help Iran get materials to make nuclear weapons.

At a press conference, Morgenthau announced criminal charges against Li Fang Wei, a Chinese citizen, and his company, Limmt. The charges include falsifying business records and conspiracy.

"This is a case about selling banned materials and contraband by a Chinese company to Iran by using the U.S. financial system," Morgenthau said.

Morgenthau said the company had been banned since 2006 from engaging in financial transactions in the U.S. for its role in assisting Iran's nuclear proliferation program.

Limmt used aliases and front companies in order to send and receive dozens of illegal payments through the U.S. between November 2006 and September 2008, Morgenthau said.

During the three-year period, Limmt used its aliases to provide banned missile, nuclear and so-called "dual-use" materials to subsidiaries of the Iranian Defense Industries Organization.

Morgenthau said he doesn't believe any of the New York banks were aware of the true nature of the illegal transactions.

"We think they were completely deceived by the use of multiple aliases," Morgenthau said.

So an undeniable Chinese-Iranian nuclear connection. Add to that North Korea's recent missile test and their status as a puppet state of China and we have a very dangerous world.

More: But how could this be? And will we hear any mea culpas from the Left? Nah. HotAir:

What? Why, the American intelligence community declared that any such talk of Iran continuing its pursuit of nuclear weapons to be mistaken. After the publication of the National Intelligence Estimate in December 2007, the Democrats rebuked George Bush with the finding, which kneecapped his efforts to get Iran to halt — much to the consternation of our allies in Europe, who knew better. John Bolton accused Bush critics within American intelligence of cooking the books in order to gain control of American policy.

Looks like Bolton pretty much got it right.
