The Tribune captures some hilariously appalling quotes from Cook County Commissioners as a prelude to their editorial on the defeat of the sales tax rollback. Here's one:

"We don't have any businesses in my district to leave." -- Commissioner Deborah Sims, challenging the notion that high taxation is driving businesses -- and jobs -- out of Cook County

Oh, and two commissioners voted present. Better than dead bodies I suppose.
