Take me to your leader

Slipped into his new budget, you might say under the radar, President Obama quietly pursues unilateral nuclear disarmament. Do you feel safer now? Via Chicago Boyz:

Leftists appear to believe that the only reason that criminals use guns is that the police set a bad example by doing so first. This seems to be the logic behind the Obama administrations campaign to unilaterally disarm the U.S. of our nuclear deterrent. [h/t Instapundit]

Am I the only one who feels like our President has the foreign policy sophistication of a romantic teenager?

Do you feel all warm and fuzzy folks? The center-left TNR:

One particularly interesting angle here: Obama has overruled his secretary of defense, Robert Gates, who has been pushing for months to maintain the warhead program. Last October, Gates warned that

"[t]o be blunt, there is absolutely no way we can maintain a credible deterrent and reduce the number of weapons in our stockpile without resorting to testing our stockpile or pursuing a modernization program."

Fresh from overruling his intel professionals, including all recent prior administration CIA heads, and releasing the Enhanced Interrogation Memos, ensuring our transparency...to al Qaeda terrorists, our President Barack Obama now overrules his defense secretary on a crucial issue of national security. It's the Obama Master Plan come to fruition.

God help America.

Maybe we should just follow the Danish model now--at one time they just had an answering machine message for their Defense Dept. Ours could say, take me to your leader.

Have a nice day.
