Another Point on the Graph

The Obama stimulus plan is a bust. RedState. Obama economics advisor Austan Goolsbee was out spinning yesterday-- Keith Hennessy blows apart Goolsbee's "incorrect and inflammatory statements" on the auto loans. AP on government's massive spending (and massive debt) programs to "help" the housing market having the opposite effect--inflation worries are pushing interest rates higher. And the NY Times "reports" tensions are gripping the Obama Economics Team. Nice quote:
“You can’t assemble a group of really brilliant people, and deal with some of the most complex problems in our lifetimes and not have disagreements,” said David Axelrod, Mr. Obama’s senior political strategist who, with the White House chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, plays a big role in mediating among the economic advisers and helps shape the decisions.
Rahm unsheathes one knife with Summers name on it. Is the Obama administration honeymoon over? Perhaps yet another point on the graph will tell the tale:
The president “invites debate but he doesn’t tolerate factionalism. And ultimately everybody on the economic team knows that at the end of the day we’re going to hold hands and jump together,” Mr. Axelrod added.
What a comforting thought.

UPDATE: President whines, defends his porky bad decisions. The next one? Can we afford another TRILLION in debt?
