Kirk's Heartburn

NY Times hearts Illinois Rep. Mark Kirk's heartburn with the conservative base, especially on his pro-cap and tax vote, marring his run for the Senate. Earth to Kirk and Dems-- Waxman-Markey would wreck the economy. But you gotta love this quote from the clueless ones:

"Mark Kirk wants people to forget about his vote against the stimulus, just like he wants people to forget about his votes against every solution to get this economy moving again," DSCC communications director Eric Schultz said when Kirk announced his Senate bid.

Well, any objective observer would say the Dems want us to forget about the major failure of the stimulus bill which has NOT gotten this economy moving again. And then they have a sleazy candidate like Alexi Giannoulias running for Senate.
