The Perseids

Got up to catch the meteor showers last night, rather about 3 in the morning. No luck blocking the moon, but we think we saw Mars twinkling past the tree tops, and then there were those meteors. Like half-spoken soundless bursts, exclamation points of light, punctuating the night.

Then I went back to sleep.
