Sarah America in Hong Kong

News is filtering out (AFP snarky) WSJ here, from her speech which was for investors, closed to media. Amazingly good reviews in Huffpo (from a non-politico writer, a fellow speaker) , and the NY Times:

“The speech was wide-ranging, very balanced, and she beat all expectations,” said Doug A. Coulter, head of private equity in the Asia-Pacific region for LGT Capital Partners.

“She didn’t sound at all like a far-right-wing conservative. She seemed to be positioning herself as a libertarian or a small-c conservative,” he said, adding that she mentioned both Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher. “She brought up both those names.”

And this, at the end:

Mr. Goodé, a New Yorker who said he would never vote for Mrs. Palin, said she acquitted herself well.

“They really prepared her well,” he said. “She was articulate and she held her own. I give her credit. They’ve tried to categorize her as not being bright. She’s bright.”

I'm putting the quote up now before the story gets revised.

P.S. Tribune links to AP story. The DNC indulges itself:

Hari Sevugan, a spokesman for the Democratic National Committee, said Tuesday the group knew little about Palin's speech.

"We're curious as to what she's willing to say in private but not in public," Sevugan said. "Are there other countries that she can see from her window that she doesn't want us to know about?"
Keep up the cute elitist jabs. We are in awe of your brilliance.
