Peace in our time!!!

Our President Barack Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize. Can the Oscar be far behind? According to the White House he is "humbled".

P.S. I guess this makes up for the Olympic embarrassment. All the world's a stage.

More. Times of London is appalled.

Even Code Pink seems finally aware that if we abandon Afghanistan there will be a bloodbath--women will especially be at risk from a brutal Taliban. (If we just send more humanitarian funding, who will protect the humanitarians?). And if we don't send more troops we will not have enough to protect the population, or our own troops risking their lives for us there--so that we don't have to go back, and so that terrorists won't be free to come here to attack us again.

More. Kaus thinks our President Barack Obama should politely decline. Jonah Goldberg. Huffpo worried about backlash.

P.P.S. Bill Clinton has to be really steamed.

They also gave Yassir Arafat a Peace Prize. I'm not against our President getting an award, but the Nobel people have put all Peace prize winners in the same category with a thug, a gangster, a terrorist. It's not such a great distinction imo.

Agreed. This one is especially laughable right now.

Considering that the nominee deadline was Feb 2nd, and Obama took office on the 20th of January, I'd say he deserves it! Who else accomplished so muchin 10 ten days? < I hope the sarcasim came through, I laid it onpretty thick >

Our President Barack Obama is an inspiration to us all!!!

How many Nobel Peace Prizes have they given over the mid-east non-peace?

To useless poseurs or worse. The Nobel committee is a detriment to peace.

Too bad for you that they didn't award him the Nobel Prize for Literature. Bill Ayers would have already contacted you about picking up a box full of notes and his personal hard drive, so that you could prove he wrote Dreams.

Better luck next time.
