A Brady Surge?

It's a Dem polling firm but shows a shift in the GOP. "With the field that bunched up and 17% of voters still undecided any outcome is possible". Traffic jam. (The ethics issues of McKenna should knock his numbers further. And Dillard's teachers union endorsement is appalling.) Remember--as Dan Proft said this morning--the undecided are a landslide. From the Brady campaign:
New Poll Shows Brady Positioning to Win
Dear Anne,

New public opinion poll numbers this morning have great news for our campaign. The polling by the independent firm shows three candidates locked in a dead heat for the lead:

Bill Brady: 16% K. Dillard: 19% A. McKenna: 17% J. Ryan: 13%

But these numbers are even better than they might seem. Brady has shown the largest surge since the Tribune poll, gaining seven points. Dillard, McKenna and Ryan have already spent upwards of $5 million dollars getting their messages out. We have held most of our firepower until this final week. In other words, all the other candidates have had their say by now and are in a tie with Bill Brady, who has the message and the ground troops to turn out the vote. Now it is Bill's turn, when it really counts.

Bill Brady's TV ad is now up and running and he can be heard statewide on radio.

And most important, thanks to you, we are also the only campaign with a strong volunteer get-out-the-vote effort. You will make the difference.

What can you do?

Friend-to-friend emails and calls. A lot of people are having trouble getting through the clutter of this campaign. Tell them to think 3-2-1. There are 3 Chicago-style insiders: Ryan, McKenna and Dillard. There are 2 candidates with many of the same positions as Bill but who are too untested and inexperienced: Adam and Dan. And then there is one. Bill Brady is the only candidate with a track record fighting for conservative values. He is proven. Bill Brady will bring a new common-sense approach to government, giving citizens a greater voice in their government and making government work for the people, not for the career politicians. He has pledged to not raise taxes and to cut spending. He will work to bring jobs back to Illinois.

Donate. Every $1,000 we raise buys another 60 seconds of airtime for voters to hear our conservative message of clean-break reforms and no- tax-increase fiscal responsibility. Please contribute to our campaign in these final days. It's up to you.

Reach out. Ask five of your friends to vote for Bill Brady and follow up with them on Tuesday to make sure they have cast their ballots.

Early vote. There's snow in the long- range forecast for much of Illinois on Tuesday. Cast your vote for Bill Brady early. The last day to vote early at your local election authority is Thursday.

And don't forget to catch the upcoming debates: WTTW (Channel 11) in Chicago (7 p.m. Tuesday) and WLS-AM Radio 890 with Roe Conn and Cisco Cotto (4-6 p.m. Wednesday).

With your help, Illinois will have a proven, conservative choice for governor! Vote Bill Brady!

The primary election is now just 6 days away.

Please forward this e-mail to your friends and family. Please ask five people today to vote for Bill Brady, and please consider making a contribution to Brady for Illinois!
