Green Police

This is my Super Bowl ad pick. LOL. Trending on Twitter. The ad here.

Lightbulb crackdown.

Out of my cold dead hands.

P.S. I drive a diesel. Not that green brand.

P.P.S. OK, this one was cute too.

And this one, well, we all appreciate it. Tucked in between the all-American sports. UPDATE.

On the whole, I thought the Super Bowl ads were really bad. And I'm not a crotchety old man yet. I don't think this every year.

The Dorito ones were just stupid. The Bud Light ones lived up to their usual "American-Pie"-is-just-too-sophisticated-and-smart-for-America standard of comedy.

And most of it had an undercurrent of men being "spineless," brow-beaten and emasculated (but that fast car is the last male holdout, and we can always watch sports on hand-held TVs or hide in casket full of chips-- or something).

Do the ad-execs really think this is going to fly with the target audience? Did someone just watch "Fight Club" or something?

Yeah. I agree with you. As does my 20 something son who made the same comment about the emasculated man ads--and it's kind of demeaning to women too--

Definitely. It's like all the wives/girlfriends in the adverts are supposed to be shrews-- or, at the very best, nagging annoyances that need to be avoided. Real cute.

I think it just reflects what a low opinion the advertising companies have of all the people associated with their target market.

And I don't think this all the time. Many of the ads just seemed really poorly done / insulting this year.
