Northbrook, Ill. – The Kirk for Senate campaign today announced the launch of a new Web site to provide Illinois voters, reporters and bloggers the facts about Alexi Giannoulias’ record.
“The coming election offers the people of Illinois a clear choice to change direction, create jobs and clean up corruption,” campaign spokesman Eric Elk said. “Congressman Kirk brings a thoughtful, independent record of fighting for jobs and reform while Alexi Giannoulias brings a record of poor judgment, reckless behavior and mismanagement of public funds. Alexi’s failure to take responsibility for his risky banking practices, loans to organized crime figures like Michael “Jaws” Giorango and $70 million loss of Bright Start college savings funds will not go unnoticed by the citizens of Illinois. After Rod Blagojevich and Roland Burris, we won’t get fooled again.”
The new site, www.RealTruthAboutAlexi.com , will serve as a clearinghouse of factual information about Alexi Giannoulias’ work at the Broadway Bank and as Illinois State Treasurer. The site will also include a feature to allow anonymous whistleblowers to let the Kirk campaign know about other Giannoulias insider deals and risky schemes.
“Our country faces serious problems and we need trusted leaders to create jobs and clean up corruption," Elk said. "Factually incorrect, misleading and cynical statements made by Alexi Giannoulias should be exposed.
