Wilmette Board Majority: No Stimulus Here

You'd think a village board that bleats about sales tax revenues wouldn't thumb its nose at reasonable development and treat private property rights in such a cavalier manner.

Their short-sighted and inconsistent actions have kept this site idle for years. (Yes, the moratorium was specifically directed at the old Ford dealership site despite being couched in a broader way.)

It wasn't all that long ago the village board paid consultants (some former village employees) to do a study. As I recall it looked at "underutilized" private properties around the village.

Well, who is responsible for that today? And aren't we dealing with the same kind of arbitrary decision-making, no matter how many studies taxpayers are forced to fund.

No stimulus here.
