In announcing its investigations into the pan-European racket, the agency said that as much as 90 percent of the entire market volume on emissions exchanges was caused by fraudulent activity.

This after ClimateGate.

More. Of course we want to be good stewards of all our resources, energy and environment. Keep in mind much green alternative energy is years away, plus:

...the risks involved in drilling off the coast of the United States are small in proportion to those involved in shipping oil across the ocean or drilling off the coasts of countries that do not treat safety and environmental standards with our own degree of care.

And current alternative fuels may be worse. Better yet, shift to drilling on land (like ANWR) or closer to shore where we have proven technology and an excellent safety record.
