Governor Pay to Play

Gov. Rod Blagojovich's campaign has had to spend $40,000 in legal fees, so he's fortunate that contributions from his buddies are keeping him ahead of the game to the tune of $15.5 million.

He did have to return $15,000 from one of his friends who pled guilty in September "to federal charges involving an alleged kickback scheme in the state's teacher pension system."

(There's that teacher's pension fund again)
In his plea agreement, Cari said he was told by another figure indicted in the probe that a "high-ranking Illinois public official" and two associates steered pension fund business to firms that would make campaign contributions.

Blagojevich has denied he is the public official and said of his administration, "We do things right."
Right for whom?
