We Can't Wait for this...

Trib coverage of World Can't Wait:
Chicago protest: Demonstrators estimated by police to number about 500 chanted for Bush to resign at a "The World Can't Wait. Drive Out the Bush Regime!" rally in Chicago's Federal Plaza and a march afterward. "I marched for civil rights, and now they're taking them away," said Charles Hendricks, 70. "It's time for America to stand up for something that's worth something."
Gee, why did the Trib show only close-up shots of the "big" protest, with only a handful of people in the pix, in both their print (maybe 10 people with signs) and online (at end of State of Union photo gallery) editions. You'd think they'd want a shot to show the 500 estimated. They had to really work for the daylight shot, kneeling down at the feet of the group to angle up.

Could it be the bigger number included office workers streaming out of the building after work, when the protest was timed to start?

The Trib also neglected to mention that the group is a communist front organization, (and a successor to Not in Our Name), which a cursory inquiry would have revealed, since they included the names of speakers in their LA press release (apparently there were no prominent speakers in Chicago, thankfully):
Sponsored by The World Can't Wait -- Drive Out the Bush Regime. Bush Step Down, and take your program with you.
Other speakers include, Attorney Stephen Rohde, Blase Bonpane, Office of the Americas, KPFK, Rev. Richard Meri Ka Ra Byrd, KRST Unity Center, Jane Bright, Gold Star Families for Peace, Rev. Louis Chase, Jim Lafferty, Executive Director, National Lawyers Guild, L.A., Jan Lundberg, environmentalist, oil industry analyst, founder of Auto-Free Times, Lucia Marano, actor, Dwight Trible, Jazz Vocalist, student from Occidental College, Dolly Veale, Revolutionary Communist Party.
They also could have asked directly, like our Intrepid Correspondent. (What a concept!)
Trailing behind the group was a man I recognized as one of the hardcore Maoists handing out flyers to two young black girls, who had just happened to be outside of the building. I walked up to him and confronted him. "Are you a communist?" He said yes, he was. I looked at his sweatshirt, which said MASS MURDERERS and had the faces of GW Bush, Cheney, etc. I told him, didn't he know that communists had killed way more people that George W. Bush? He replied that revolutions "aren't dinner parties", in case I was confused, and stumbled into an explanation of class warfare. I rolled my eyes.
I'd hate to think the oversight was intentional.

Hey, I found your site while looking for other coverage of the Chicago protest last night. Cool stuff. I just wanted to send you a link to a video I made of the event, which might offer a better look than the Trib produced.
