Cook County Machines

Cook County board commissioner Tony Peraica, the GOP candidate for board president who will presumably run against the ailing incumbent John Stroger, called for revoking the lucrative contract of the company providing voting machines for Tuesday's fouled up election. Sun Times:
"For $52 million, I expect to have better results here than in Baghdad," said Tony Peraica, who ran unopposed Tuesday as the Republican candidate for board president......

Thousands of votes in more than 500 precincts went uncounted Tuesday night in the county and in Chicago, which also uses the high-tech system provided by Sequoia Voting Systems. City and county election boards still hadn't tallied up all of the votes by Wednesday night.
Some blamed the delays on use of two different kinds of machines, others human error. But this is Cook County, so we may never know the full story. You can be sure no heads will roll over this.
