Topinka Campaign Kicks Off

More heavyweights in for Judy. Sun Times (scroll down in Metro Briefs):
Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and U.S. Sen. John McCain will travel to Illinois this week to stump for Republican gubernatorial nominee Judy Baar Topinka, her campaign said Sunday.
Shifting a bit to the left for support on the Republican ideological spectrum, after the Bush visit last week.

Lynn Sweet links to full text of the President's speech
at the Topinka for Governor fundraiser in her Sun Times blog . It's a good speech and lays out some major issues for her campaign.

UPDATE: Good post by Bill Baar commenting on the Illinois budget vs. US as it bears on the governor's race.
